The Modern Contemporary Museum (Moco) in Amsterdam houses a collection of artwork by unparalleled artists from the past century. Within three stories of floor-to-ceiling creations, the gallery is located right on the Museumplein.
The Alsberg townhouse where the museum has found a residence, opened last April 2016. The house was designed in 1904 by Eduard Cuypers. Moco Museum focuses on proven pioneers and protagonists, the so-called ”Rock Stars of Art” within various art movements. With exciting exhibitions and high-profile guest curators, Moco fulfils the need of a huge audience. Take a glance into the art world which is usually hidden to the public!
(@mocomuseum)Moco is famous for Banksy’s artwork, containing several of his infamous street pieces, as well a large number of his indoor works, including work on canvas. One of these is his giant ‘Beanfield’ painting, a beautiful piece which is displayed on the ground floor. An impossible-to-miss eye-catcher as you enter the Banksy exhibition. Other highlights include ‘Girl with Balloon’, ‘Laugh Now’ and ‘Keep It Real’.
