In Paris, there’s always a reason to celebrate all the beauty with the cheese, the chocolate and the wine... Now that we are at our last series for Fashion Week, we can’t wait to see who’s designers were your favorites! From the romantic city of Paris, we’ll briefly share our take on #PFW ‘s leather-clad collections, blasts from the past, as well as bright and classic creations produced by several of the best designers we all know for PWF SS17!
Leather, leather, and more leather. @anthonyvaccarello ‘s message through @YSL was as clear as the gleam off its models: Youthful Sexy Leather, clothing fit for an eye-catching embracer of the night. The designer showcased a collection just like a French butcher: precise but delicate, as you would see their V-necks and gleaming corseted dresses. Likewise, @bouchra.jarrar designed well-cut fitting pantsuits, leather biker jackets and tres-chic Parisian trenches that are rigorous but sensuous for @lanvinofficial! #PFW
Just when you thought @olivier_rousteing ‘s design for @balmain has peaked with their series of leaf-green and earth-brown caped dresses and pantsuits, out came metallic outfits as if it was made from galaxy-fallen stars, glittering with every stride down the runway. And how about that @puma collab with @badgalriri ? Another celebrity collaboration (like @tommyxgigi), RiRi described it as “clothes that Marie Antoinette might wear in a parallel universe, where state-of-the-art gyms and whale-boned corsets lived side by side”.
Having grown up at sunny South of France, @jacquemus brought out Provencal folk culture through shawl-collared, puff-sleeved and peasant hats with a lacy white nightdress and black ribboning. Another inspired by the past century, @demnagvasalia ‘s bright and bold show for @balenciaga adhered to the brand’s codes, from architectural shapes and diamante brooches “thought to be held by Christobal’s own hand”! But back to the present, Pheobe Philo’s versatile design for Celine is fitting for both school pick-up and gallery openings; an ode to the busy recent day’s woman. #PFW
When Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her first collection for @dior this #PFW, her collection of corseted dresses, fencing-inspired suits and statement tees was inspired by the house’s history and also of the female form. And how about the most-talked-about-piece of the collection? That T-shirt emblazoned with ‘We Should All Be Feminist’? Now all women can support the movement loud and proud with Dior. Was it more Dior than @maisonvalentino though? You decide.
Jacquemus, Balenciaga & Celine“This is technology. But with the lingerie, it’s intimate technology!” exclaims @karllagerfeld at @chanelofficial ‘s spring show just yesterday. We wonder what the message was behind it? Was he referring to the significant bond between a women and her smartphone? The collection included colorful baseball caps, medallion necklaces, frothy chiffon sundresses, fuzzy jackets and tweeds twinkling with crystals, and that reboot of the Chanel bag. What was your take on this season’s #PFW?
