London Fashion Week 2018

Fall/Winter Collection

Lonfon Fashion Week is just about ending, and you know what that means. Hitting it off with JW Anderson, think versatile chic applicable for outdoorsy everyday living. Upgraded utility-wear, shirred taffeta dresses, Girl Scout-camping-cool looks, army/navy militaria pieces; all that can be worn together in an off-hand way.

Simone Rocha‘s artistique flair were tactile-esque, with textures and layers bumped up into something more. Puffed-up 19th century sleeves, bared shoulders, open necklines were inspired from a 1809 Mary Freer portrait, translated to the solemn-faced gals Rocha puts on her runway. Lace, goat fur, Victoriana-coats. Gorg.

Delpozo

Preen by Thornton Bregazzi asked the world: where would you find traditional gender-reversal where women worked, and men stayed at home to care for their children? Discovering “haenyeo divers” in Jeju, it inspired various tight hoods, scuba-fabric parkas, trails of fishnet and shimmery mother-of-pearl sequins this season.

Delpozo‘s creative director Josep Font channeled his inner architect by keeping close to 3D leather belts creating silhouettes of flowers in bloom, inspired by unpublished natgeo imagery of lilies and lotus petals. Have a spring awakening of head-to-toe pink and lemon yellow, with asymmetry to top it all off, too.

Mary Katrantzou showcased “Interior Lives” this season; some close to its literal sense. Digging into her collection inventory for inspiration, Kantrantzou found Gobelins tapestry wrapped around dresses / patched into corsests on coats, pointillist paintings onto knits, Victorian drapes swagged on shoulders, and more!

Burberry

And as a (fitting) closing, we bid farewell to #ChristopherBailey at his grand finale of 17 years at Burberry. Perhaps his most autobiographical and heartfelt collection; it was an honest take of his first fashion awakening “about the past, present, and future” of Burberry. Expect rainbows splashed to almost everything!
