Prepare yourself to do a backstroke in a pool of sprinkles a la Scrooge McDuck at the latest pop-up in Los Angeles, that is the @museumoficecream. With 10 colorfully-themed installations spread across the airy warehouse space, the art exhibition is open for public between April 22 until May 29. Start your journey picking out a single piece of chocolate, and try many of the goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth along the way!
For a different take to Los Angeles landmarks, the next California-themed room is whimsical with motifs splashed on its walls.
Including a rotating selection of scoops from the best of the best, the ice cream served by the likes of @saltandstraw, @coolhaus and @cream_nation is well-worth the brain freeze. As one enters the first door, visitors are greeted by @sethrogen ‘s familiar voice spewing ice cream facts through the phone as he gears up for the rest of the delicious journey.
@katiegibbsphotoFollow the path through 10,000 hanging “split” bananas where you can take pictures, go on the swings, and scratch-and-sniff the walls for that sweet scent… then, stroll into the mint chip “grow house” where real mint plants completely cover the green room.
The co-founders of @museumoficecream wished to wade in a sprinkle-filled ocean, and so they made it a reality with an installation that had 200,000 New Yorkers sit on the waitlist: their very own rainbow-colored sprinkle pool! And the final surprise? A homemade pancake ice-cream sandwich, packed with blueberry crunch toast and maple syrup in the middle… The only bad news: all the tickets have sold out!
Go through a sherbet room, a melted popsicle jungle and a gummy bear hallway before you reach a room exuding darker vibes than others. With madness and chaos spread over mundane and innocent objects, like black cookie dough or a Greek bust smothered in melting chocolate cones by artist @abelbentin.
