Four Fragrances

Some Fragrances Worn by Ladies of The Classics

Before one leaves their comfortable abode to attend to the day’s active schedule, a spritz of scent can go a long way... A whiff that make heads turn as one is passing by, the lingering essence that leaves an impression even after you’ve left the room. Stay tuned for some inspiration picks we collected of some fragrances worn by ladies of the classics.

Givenchy L’Interdit & Guerlain Vol de Nuit

Meaning “forbidden” in French, the L’Interdit by Givenchy include notes of bergamot, rose, jasmine, iris, violet, narcissus and sandalwood; a wonderful floral aldehyde made especially for Audrey Hepburn. Another favorite by another named Hepburn, aviation-enthusiastic Kate admired Guerlain’s Vol de Nuit; a creation with bergamot, jasmine and vanilla notes, made in homage to La Petit Prince’s author Antoine de Saint-Exupery, for when he wrote the book Night Flight.

Creed Fleurs de The Rose Bulgare & Fracas by Robert Piguet

Ever felt so incomplete without something? Ava Gardner did, without her rose, bergamot and green tea-scented Creed Fleurs de The Rose Bulgare... Another scent favorited by the Best Acress nominee was the bergamot, mandarin and lilac-infused Fracas by Robert Piguet. Stuck in a fight with your SO? Spritz the stairway with this last one in suggestive invitation – just like how she did with husband Frank Sinatra.

Joy by Jean Patou

Giving Chanel No. 5 a run for its money, Joy by Jean Patou was awarded “Scent of the Century” by Fragrance Foundation. Smelling like strong florals, it was said to be made of more than 300 roses and 10,000 jasmine flowers. Upon their first encounter, Gone With the Wind’s Clark Gable confirmed that Vivien Leigh indeed smelt like violets. It was truly a fragrance devoted by many starlets of the era...

In the coronation of Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco, actress Grace Kelly wore Creed Fleurissimo. The bergamot, tuberose, Florentine iris and Bulgarian rose-scented fragrance was comissioned specially by Prince Rainier, in efforts to compliment his bride’s wedding bouquet... With everything that may go through a bride-to-be’s mind just before the big day, isn’t that such a thoughtful gesture by the groom’s? So. Romantic. Men, take note.
