Reef-ringed Siargao is an island surrounded by 222,000 acres of ancient mangrove forests and natural waterways. Occupying the south-eastern tip of the island is Nay Palad Hideaway, which plays an important part in protecting the mangroves, ocean and wildlife unique to this part of the Philippines. Crocodiles, monitor lizards, wild civet cats, and the Philippine cockatoo roam the land while three species of endangered turtles and 106 species of fish reside in protected waters surrounding Nay Palad Hideaway.

The hideaway was designed by Daniel Pouzet, who wanted to create a destination that sat in harmony with the wild surroundings and culture of Siargao.
