Nay Palad Hideaway

Barefoot Luxury

Verdant forests, bright blue waters and a powder-soft stretch of private sands: boutique resort Nay Palad Hideaway ticks all your bucket list for a romantic getaway. This is no cookie-cutter barefoot idyll, but rather an intimate, cosseting retreat of just nine villas where guests can live out their tropical fantasies at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Everything here, from the sea-fresh cuisine to indulgent massages and island excursions, is included in your stay.

Reef-ringed Siargao is an island surrounded by 222,000 acres of ancient mangrove forests and natural waterways. Occupying the south-eastern tip of the island is Nay Palad Hideaway, which plays an important part in protecting the mangroves, ocean and wildlife unique to this part of the Philippines. Crocodiles, monitor lizards, wild civet cats, and the Philippine cockatoo roam the land while three species of endangered turtles and 106 species of fish reside in protected waters surrounding Nay Palad Hideaway.

The hideaway was designed by Daniel Pouzet, who wanted to create a destination that sat in harmony with the wild surroundings and culture of Siargao. A sustainable ethos runs throughout the guest experience and is expressed in Filipino design and craft elements, traditional spa treatments, gifts ‘made with love in Compostela’, organic farming, seasonal menus and more.

Hidden away in a patch of luxuriant forest doesn’t stop Nay Palad to serve you with the best hospitality such as a spa in the six thatch-roofed huts have the whimsy of a fairy-tale village, albeit one stylishly decked out with hand-woven furnishings, decked floating paths and curvaceous architectural lines. Particularly atmospheric at night when light filters through layers of tented fabric, the treatment rooms are serene and intimate. Plump for a traditional Filipino Hilot massage, a tan-prepping body scrub or a petal-strewn bath à deux.
