How about visiting the hilltop village of Montemerano? Enjoy their pleasantly ordinary, humble village exuding that timeless ambiance… Do visit the village square “Piazza del Castello;” the centre of the original castle that once stood.

Whilst it may be “off the beaten path,” the lack of tourist hoards, sightseeing buses and souvenir stores make it a refreshing slice of Italy at its most authentic! Care for some culture?

After Montemerano, head north for just 15 minutes and you’ll reach the town of Saturnia and its well-renowned geothermal springs. Since the ancient times, the weary, sick, or in-need-of-pampering have travelled to it for its sulfurous waterfalls that is relaxing as well as good for one’s health. A great place to visit at night in summer, and just as wonderful during those cold season days. A must for every vacation!

Why stop there? Continue to unwind by enjoying a bottle of Morellino di Scansano wines (or two)! The 25-kilometre square wine region is located around the medieval village, just between the Ombrone and Albegna rivers. Dating back to the 12th century, the Scansano’s volcanic soil, altitude and geothermal springs all contributed to the interesting taste of its vintage wines; quickly gaining more praise from fans worldwide.
