Morpheus is named after the God of Dreams in Greek mythology and represents the evolution of City of Dreams Macau. With a focus on luxury experiences that goes beyond gaming, the world’s first free-form exoskeleton high-rise architectural sculpture, which is headed by Lawrence Ho Yau-lung, Morpheus makes a fitting epitaph for its late designer, Zaha Hadid, and doesn’t so much raise the bar as propel it into orbit when it comes to imaginative accommodation.
With the ultra-luxury rooms and suites, including three villas with their own private indoor pools, and six duplex villas complete with large living spaces, the interior speaks for the hotel itself, one of their unique features is the mini bar at Morpheus, they refer it as the “Maxi Bar” since it actually goes from floor to ceiling. The geometrically shaped bath tubs were also specially created for Morpheus, making them truly one-of-a-kind, designed by Peter Remedios.
Representing several architectural and technological breakthroughs, its surreal appearance has made it an instant icon in Macau, Asia and the world, with 12 panoramic lifts, a 35m high atrium-lobby space and two sky bridges (on the 21st and 30th floor), the two towers are connected at the podium levels and at the roof. From the interior design, food and beverage partners to room amenities and hotel facilities, no expense has been spared in the making of Macau’s most luxurious integrated resort.
(@stephlovesr)Let us talk the facilities from the hotel, there are several high-end boutiques open onto the lobby, but there’s free entertainment to be had riding the beam-me-up-Scotty, glass-sided, panoramic lifts, which overlook the hotel’s central atrium.
There are stand-out dining options, a Chinese fine dining called Yi (by Ducasse), Voyages by Alain Ducasse and a Pierre Hermé patisserie at the lobby, which at 35 metres high is fairly impressive itself. Last and very much feast, omakase Yi hovers on a sky bridge linking the hotel’s two towers.
(@lanyqiu)You can also enjoy chocolate by Pierre Hermé pastry spread at the breakfast buffet. You can also enjoy your chocolate in your room, while soaking up in bathtub and enjoy the view of Macau from above
Morpheus houses ever-changing collection of artworks from artists including KAWS, Jean-Michel Othoniel and Thilo Heinzmann. From hot pink polar bears by Paola Pivi to Erwin Wurm’s fat car sculpture to Shinji Ohmaki’s plant-inspired patterns lining the halls, the artwork is fun, modern and eye-catching. What's more, the collection of artwork will change every few months to offer guests a new experience every time they come.
