London Fashion Week has just wrapped up, and we’re bringing you some of our favorite designers who’s showcased in London this #FW17. Let’s get right into it!
Remember when @christopherkane bumped up the desirability of a rubber shoe to new heights? He’s about to do the same with taffeta. He’s utilized scrunchy, crunchy iridescent fabrics into his latest #FW17 collection, turning controversial ideas into modern luxury. As for the master of cultural fusions, @jw_anderson was “about couture edges that could be morphed or destructed,” matching “things that shouldn’t really work” together.
Another designer who played with burnished and rich colors was @erdemlondon, in the form of his signature feminine dresses – worthy of red carpets. Velvet is in, guys.
A collection dedicated to her friend designer @nicoll_studio, @roksandailincic released a new Pantone color in his memory called Nicoll Blue. Setting a rich tone with references to Nomads and the 70’s, even the fabrics were earthy and tactile.
ErdemA jeweler by trade, @natashazinko designs her clothes with the real world in context – catering to the stylish, everyday snappable moments that would benefit from a hint of quirkiness. As for @josephfashion, they also showcased assymmetrical styles. Similar to Joseph, designs by @marques_almeida also included oversized color-blocking looks. With clashing patterns and color-blocks, expect to squint as you scroll through the looks this #FW17 season.
Designer @simonerocha_ has done a lot of reflection, making a collection that “[is] inclusive.” Casting a look to who her customers are, she invited many beautiful women across all generations to tread the runway in her furry-toed, Lucite-heeled shoes. The spirit of Rocha’s message is the soft power of women’s strenghth, speaking notes of peace and serenity; her version of armor to be worn by females.
