Hidden in plain sight, the contemporary restaurant of 212 by Javanegra Gourmet Atelier is the best-kept secret for the establishment’s regular patrons. Thoughtfully farmed from across Indonesia, their fair-trade roasted coffee beans that are known to have almost zero defects, provide better and more sustainable lives for Indonesian farmers across the region have led to a cult following among coffee connoisseurs... I’d fight through Jakarta traffic for a takeaway. That’s how good their coffee is!

While many cafés focus more on the décor, two Thai photographers, Piyachart Trithaworn and Natthiti Ampriwan, started out an art project called ‘Gallery Drip Coffee’. Inspired by travels through highland coffee plantations of Northern Thailand, the duo puts the spotlight back to the coffee beans itself, serving a fine selection of single-source, fair-trade varieties. Being located right inside the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre is also a great bonus!
