TORRES DEL PAINE

Patagonia

Torres del Paine National Park

The holiday season is almost over for many of us, and you may have seen plenty of travel pictures of awesome hikes or beach-bumming. For us, it was this incredible hike to Patagonia’s crown jewel, Torres Del Paine National Park in Chile. With many treks to be taken, and many tranquil campsites, friendly rangers and flawless natural beauty surrounding you, trekking there is definitely one in our bucket-lists.

While the park’s other glaciers allow visits only by hike, visitors can take a boat cruise to Glacier Grey. Highly regarded for the great opportunities it offers, visitors are always awestruck from the stunning blue it displays, being in such close proximity to the gigantic formations of ice. Definitely an activity that anyone will enjoy, as those views are defo spellbinding.

Described as a must for “the real, full-hardy trekkers,” it is the least-visited of the hikes as it is considered one of the most challenging but most incredible sight you’ll probably see.

A magnificent natural basin ringed by the black “horns” of the Cuernos del Paine, the French Valley take your breath away with its extraordinary sweep of mountains reaching 9,350ft high.

Last but not least, Las Torres is definitely a must! The attraction that spearheaded making the park famous, you’ll see why for yourself. Giant, jagged peaks capped with glacier that looks amazing when the red reflection of the sun shines upon them, you’ll defo want to hike up in the afternoon for the sunset too. Appearing to soar nearly 6,500ft upwards, the granite pillars make that postcard-perfect photograph.

With so many extraordinary visits lurking at every corner, the Awasi Patagonia’s rustic charm proves to be a spectacular base to recharge in. Nestled in a private reserve overlooking the national park itself, it makes for an isolated retreat complete with a four-wheel drive so guests are free to explore at their own pace...

Paso John Garner is a steep and rocky pass through the Patagonian Andes Mountains. When you look from the top, you’ll see the magnificent expanse of bluish-grey, crevasse-covered ice, sparkling like crystals underneath the Patagonian sun, or looking like as the sky spilled an enormous and delicious vanilla milkshake from below. Even the air smelled sweet. Bruh.

Then, you’ll be warmly welcomed with hot tubs and wood burning stoves after a day trekking in nature. Not to mention their gourmet dining... I can’t even, tbh, srsly.
