Men's New York Fashion Week

Spring/Summer 2018

For our last series of menswear fashion week this #SS18, we’ll do a quick recap of what went down in New York. Starting off with @rafsimons, the man looked back to his early days and why they started doing the things he did. Looking at music references and juxtapositions taken out of context, it was about Asian culture and the west coming together. New wave, punk attitude that came out with energetic vibes.

And @perryellis? It’s never obvious with this one, it’s never really one or the other – it’s a mix of ‘office’ and ‘going out of town’.

Another that made the reminiscent move, @ovadiaandsons looked back to the late ‘90s, when the brothers were in their late teens and “falling in love with fashion, street art, pop culture, sports, everything.” What’s produced was luxe jackets, bleach-rubbed camo jackets, reversible track jackets, and more.

Distorting multiple menswear categories, @toddsnyderny incorporated bombers and bermudas, matching varsity silk jackets with chinos and denim. And how about that collaboration with @champion though? As for @fengchenwang, she wanted to show the other side of Chinese aesthetic through innovative long, puffy gloves that don’t necessarily serve any utilitarian purpose – with a palette choice paid in homage to the country’s rural landscape.
