Entering this new year, we’re starting #AW17 with the rise of some of the industry’s greatest talents showcasing their work at London Fashion Week Men’s that just finished on the 9th. There were stark political messages on the runways, and deconstructed knits and dramatic layering... But here’s our top 4 picks of the trends we saw this #LFW. Stay tuned!
Purple Rain
An ode to our Prince who passed in 2016, the color purple has been worn in respect and in memory of the talented soul. Not only does it also boast some serious rock cred, the luxury robes has been reigning this season. The hues have been adorned in sleepwear with @katieeary, in two-piece tracksuits both Cottweller and @christopher_shannon, whilst @xanderxhou juxtaposed the royal shades with menacing gloves!
Wide-Leggos
Skinny jeans have been long gone, and it’s defo the right time to ditch it altogether in favour of a more relaxed look with the wide-legged trousers. You gotta give your slacks some serious space, with heaps to choose from floor sweeping styles to cropped cargo pants. As seen on this season’s collections by @jw_anderson, @craig__green, @caselyhayfordlondon and @liam__hodges, it’s go big or go home.
Puffed Out
Just like last our last post on Fall/Winter essentials, the puffa’ is (still) here to stay. Being a huge hit these past few months, designers like @caselyhayfordlondon and @astridanderson really got to know and address the full functionality you’d get from the must-have piece. For the bold, you can also take it above and beyond with the matching quilted bottoms made by @liam__hodges.
Colorblock Patchwork
For the sartorially indecisive, take a look at these mixes at its finest. While some designers have been known to take half-and-half into one, others went all out and patched together quarters, one-fifths and more. Look at the designs by @vivennewestwoodofficial, or @liam__hodges and @christopher_shannon ‘s patchwork shirts. Everything goes with these guys... No rules whatsoever.
